DescriptionEvelin ("EVidence Embedded LINux") SDK is the development environment for embedded Linux systems created and provided by Evidence. It is based on the Scratchbox and Maemo environments used by Nokia as development platform for the Internet Tablets products (e.g. Nokia 770). The SDK makes embedded Linux development easier through automatic target emulation and Eclipse IDE integration. Evelin SDK is now available also as Live-CD based on Ubuntu: a powerful tool ready to be used without installing a whole Linux distribution!
Features - Controlled set of tools to integrate and cross-compile an entire Linux distribution.
- It behaves like a Debian Linux machine with support for Debian repositories through the apt-get suite of commands
- Support for the execution of some external commands, like gvim, glade-3 and man.
- Transparent cross-compilation based on GNU gcc;
- Target software emulation
- Cpu-transparency mechanism that allows to execute target binaries on the host platform through Qemu
- Qemu is a generic and Open Source processor emulator which achieves a good emulation speed by using dynamic translation
- Proprietary version of Qemu with better support for big-endian targets
- C and C++ languages support;
- GUI based on the well-known Eclipse IDE version 3.2.2, with
- CDT plugin version 3.1.2 for C and C++ development;
- Local and remote target debugging;
- Designer for the development of graphical GTK -based applications;
- Documentation and technical support.
